- August 2009: Mando Mafia takes 4th place in the non-traditional
band competition at the 2003 Appalachian
String Band Music Festival in Clifftop, WV (the first time
the band has made it to the finals since Kelly Perdue's death)
- Fall 2007: Collin Gallahue joins the band.
- Summer 2006: Collin Gallahue wins both the Bluegrass Fiddle
and mandolin competitions at the Utah State championships.
- December 15, 2005: Band member Kelly Perdue passes away suddenly.

- Galax Old Fiddlers' Convention, 1989: Disqualified for breaking
most contest rules in a single performance, including too many
people in a band; not having a fiddle, banjo, or guitar in the
band; and playing way beyond the two and a half minute allotted
time. Despite the enthusiastic response of the audience to their
version of Stone's Rag, the Mando Mafia were told by
the contest organizers not to bother returning to the stage for
the second night of competition.
- Private party, 1989: Last musicians left standing in the mist
at 4:00 a.m. playing "Three Thin Dimes" at breakneck speed. Dubbed
the "Mando Mafia."
